Jiang narrowly loses to Furukawa in 1/8 eliminations

The last-day competition of the 2007 International Archery Tournament was staged at Olympic Green Archery Field on August 26. In the men's individual 1/8 eliminations, the China’s Jiang Lin lost to the Japanese archer  Takaharu Furukawa by a narrow gap of one point to be eliminated out of the quarterfinals.

This tournament met the first shower since its opening, in the competition between Jiang and Furukawa Takaharu, the wind blew hard ceaselessly to affect their performance to some extent, they drew 104-104, the worst result of theirs in this tournament.

Actually, the Japanese archer did not perform well today by scoring two 10 points and one 7 points, while Jiang made a serious error by scoring one 5points despite four 10 points. Eventually, they entered the overtime competition.

In the overtime competition, Takaharu Furukawa hit one 9 points first. When it was Jiang's turn, the wind remained strong in the field, but he had only 30 seconds to shoot. In the strong wind, Jiang hit one 8 points to lose the competition regrettably.
