In today's men's individual 1/16 eliminations, French archer Romain Cirouille outscored China's Xue Haifeng 115-110 to make the last 16.

Commenting on his eight 10pts and three 9pts out of a possible 12 arrows, he said the result was much better than his previous ones. "The venue is good," he said, "and the wind never caused a problem to my shooting."

Romain Cirouille finished 13th in the ranking round, and continued to beat a Bulgarian opponent by 10 points in the 1/32 eliminations to advance to the 1/16.

During the competition the French archer looked expressionless. "I'm of a introversive disposition, and it helps me a lot in the sport."
