Discussing security measures of the archery field

Gilbert Felli, IOC Executive Director of the Olympic Games
The "Good Luck Beijing" 2007 International Archery Tournament opened in Beijing's newly-built Olympic Green Archery Field on August 20. Hein Verbruggen, IOC member and Chairman of the Coordination Commission for the Games of the XXIX Olympiad, Beijing 2008, Gilbert Felli, Executive Director of the Olympic Games of the IOC, and other IOC officials inspected the Olympic Green Archery Field this morning
and observed the work of the tournament including press, security, transportation and doping control.
After the inspection Gilbert Felli gave a brief interview to the official website of the 2007 International Archery Tournament. Felli said that so far he had visited eight venues of the "Good Luck Beijing" Sport Events, including the Hong Kong Equestrian Venue, Qingdao Olympic Sailing Center, Olympic Green Hockey Field, Shunyi Olympic Rowing-Canoeing Park and the road cycling racing route in Beijing. As these venues are all very well built, he was quite satisfied with them, especially the hardware facilities. "Among these venues the route of the road cycling race is very special," said Felli, "as it extends from downtown Beijing all the way to Badaling, along which there is beautiful scenery." When asked which venue he liked most, Felli answered, "I like all the venues. The surrounding environment of these Olympic venues is also very good with green grass and beautiful flowers, which left me a good impression. I think the organizing committee of the "Good Luck Beijing" sport series has done a very good job. We are very much surprised to see so much painstaking efforts have been made to ensure the success of the events."
"The level of the organizational work of the local organizing committee has reached very high standards," concluded Felli.
