ROK scored 2025 to dominate the men's ranking round of the "Good Luck Beijing" 2007 International Archery Tournament which opened today at the Olympic Green Archery Field. Japan ranked second with 1989 and Russia third with 1985. China was 11th with 1948.
Among the 27 teams from home and abroad of the event, 60 archers from 16 teams participated in the men's 70m ranking round which determines individual results as well as team records.
In today's competition, American Sky Kim and ROK's Lee Chang Hwan tied at 678 with the US archer scoring 4 X's more to win the individual ranking. In addition to Tim Cuddihy's 651 and Michael Naray's 652, the US team settled for the fourth with 1981.
The Korean archers, leading by Lee Chang Hwan, scored 2025 to keep ahead of the team rankings and took up the No.2-4 spots of individuals with Kim Yeon Chul (674) and Im Dong Hyun (673) placing second and third.
China's Xue Haifeng ranked 20th with 658, Yong Fujun and Jiang Lin both scored 645 to be 41 and 42. China placed 11th with 1948.
The men's team 1/8 eliminations, quarterfinals will be held the day after tomorrow.
